Mud-terrain tires are built for a maximum off-road traction performance while sacrificing some on-road traction and tread life. Stone bumpers in the tread grooves eject small rocks to prevent damage from drilling, and the mud-phobic bars in the shoulders help the tire self-clean to maintain traction in mud or soft soil.
