Deep tread depths and independent tread blocks aid grip in snow, while the specialized winter compound and high sipe density provide traction in wet or snowy conditions in addition to on ice. The internal construction of the Blizzak LT consists of a robust, two-ply polyester cord casing. Two high strength, steel belts support the tread and are reinforced by a nylon casing ply.
