Toyo Proxes TQ is developed for drag racers looking for Top Qualifier performance at the dragstrip from a tire that is streetable. Proxes TQ tires are designed to provide drive-to-the-track-and-back versatility while delivering drag racing looks and traction. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven on extremely wet roads with standing water where there is the risk of hydroplaning, or in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. As a dual-purpose competition tire, the Proxes TQ is designed with a reduced tread depth and a special tread rubber compound for optimal dry weather traction. Therefore, it is important that you frequently check the available tread depth, because like all competition tires, the Proxes TQ will wear out much sooner and offer less wet weather grip than regular passenger car tires. Never use Proxes TQs, or any tires, on the street if they are worn down to the wear indicator bars, i.e., the available tread depth is no more than 2/32nds of an inch. Proxes TQ radials meet DOT requirements, however they are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. This is especially true of worn tires. And like other competition DOT tires, these tires are not intended to be stored, serviced nor driven in near- or below freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
